I left a good job because I kept watching the same problem go unsolved.
12 years inside accounting and fintech. Here’s what I saw — and why I decided to fix it.

Why I left a good job to do this.
For twelve years I worked inside some of the best-known companies in the accounting and fintech world — Xero, Starling, Dext, Capitalise, IRIS. Not consulting for them. Inside them.
I was in the room when accounting firms got pitched. I watched how they responded to marketing, what made them trust a brand, and what made them switch off immediately. I built the campaigns, managed the partnerships, and ran the events.
And the same thing kept coming up. Firm owners who were genuinely brilliant at their work — technically excellent, deeply trusted by their clients — who had absolutely no idea how to market themselves. And who kept buying marketing from people who’d never been inside an accounting firm in their lives.
I left to do something about it. Not with a programme or a framework or a course. Just by working directly with firm owners as a proper marketing partner — and doing it properly.

How I think about marketing for accountants.
Marketing for accounting firms is not the same as marketing for any other business. Your clients are business owners who’ve been burned before — by HMRC, by late suppliers, by people who overpromised. They trust slowly and choose carefully.
That means the standard digital marketing playbook — ads, funnels, lead magnets — often doesn’t work the way you’d expect. What works is demonstrating expertise before anyone asks for it, showing up consistently in the places your ideal clients already spend time, and making it obvious from the first thing they read that you understand their world.
That’s the approach I bring. It’s slower to build than running ads. And it lasts much longer.
